Wyoming Wolves Varsity Goes Down On Final Play Against Forrest Hills Eastern
Wyoming Wolves Varsity fell to Forrest Hills Eastern 2-1 on Tuesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at one with Forrest Hills Eastern batting in the bottom of the tenth when Kyle Veenstra induced Vansolkema to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Forrest Hills Eastern pitchers struck out nine, while Wyoming Wolves Varsity sat down 11
Forrest Hills Eastern captured the lead in the third inning. Beecher drove in one when he singled in the third inning.
In the top of the seventh inning, Wyoming Wolves Varsity tied things up at one. Wyoming Wolves Varsity scored one run when Frankies Arguelles singled with one out in the seventh inning.
Kyle Veenstra took the loss for Wyoming Wolves Varsity. He pitched two and a third innings, giving up one run, two hits, and striking out one.
Jalen Mitchell started the game for Wyoming Wolves Varsity. He threw seven innings, giving up one run, five hits, and striking out ten.
Arguelles went 1-for-4 at the plate as he led the team with one run batted in.
Forrest Hills Eastern collected seven hits. Armbrester and Beecher each collected multiple hits for Forrest Hills Eastern.
